| ever heard of a puffer fish? | | hello all of my good friends here at Mylot!have you-all ever heard of a puffer fish? sometimes called a Blow Fish? haha a blow fish?i was playing Casino Island Blackjack on pogo's website last night and i reached rank 36 and the picture for that rank is a puffer fish. Tetraodontidae is a family of primarily marine and estuarine fish. The family includes many familiar species which are variously called puffers, balloonfish, blowfish, bubblefish, globefish, swellfish, toadfish, and toadies. They are morphologically similar to the closely related porcupinefish, which have large conspicuous spines (unlike the small, almost sandpaper-like spines of Tetraodontidae). The scientific name, Tetraodontidae, refers to the four large teeth, fused into an upper and lower plate, which are used for crushing the shells of crustaceans and mollusks, their natural prey.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pufferfishso tell me, have you ever heard of or seen a puffer fish before?thanks for sharing! | |

| Do you know fugu which is a delicious but also poisonous fish? | | Fugu (blow fish) is a fish which contains deadly poison in the organs. Despite the risk, fugu dishes remain as special feasts in Japan. Even the milt is considered as a great delicacy. Fugu is referred to as blow/globe/puffer fish since it blows its body up. Some people like its delicious taste and take a risk to try it. But I don't think I will try it. It is very expensive and meanwhile it's also risky. | |

| | Any suggestions for what to put in a 5gal fish tank? | | I am not new to the world of keeping fish, I haven't had a tank up for awhile now though. I have a 5gal tank with all the stuff to set it up (freshwater) and am wanting to put a male Beta in it, and a few other fish. Was wondering if anyone here had any suggestions as to what else would be good, and work well in that limited space? Also any live plants that would work well in the small space? My kids and I really like color, but not the fake ones (dyed ones). Most likely going for a blue/green/white kinda combo in the Beta. | |
