Gibson Point FishingWouldn't it be nice to find a place teeming with bonefish and happy permit, that is easy to get to? Where the flats are long and firm, and the turtle grass lush? And, wouldn't it be a dream to find yourself there, virtually alone, except for your fishing partner and your English speaking guide?

This isn't a dream, this is Gibson Point Lodge, the only fishing lodge located on the 30-mile long island of Roatan, one of the breathtaking Bay Islands found 40 miles offshore of Honduras. Here we invite you to discover how flats fishing is meant to be, to turn your dreams into a wide-smile, reel-screaming reality.

Gibson Point Lodge is located on an ancient coral point near the town of Sandy Bay, on the island's northwest shore. Well appointed rooms accommodate one or two anglers with a private bath in each room. Laundry facilities are located on site.

We use Hewe's Tunnel boats equipped with Yamaha motors to access the flats found around the entire island. The lodge has extra equipment on hand in case you find yourself without an essential piece of fishing gear. Our fly tying bench is complete with everything you need to create that special fly to take that fish of a lifetime.

Gibson Point FishingJust 100 yards offshore from the lodge, the world's second Great Barrier Reef is found. For the non-angler, or if you just decide to take a day off from the fishing, the snorkeling and scuba diving is world class. In fact, Roatan is known as one of the "Top 5" in the diving world. Where the reef sits just off our shore is one of the best sites on the entire island. We have a cooperative agreement with one of the local dive resorts to arrange these trips.

Getting to Roatan is easy. Flights operate daily from both Houston and Miami on American, Continental, and TACA into San Pedro Sula, located on the mainland of Honduras. Then it's a short flight over to Roatan. TACA also provides direct service to Roatan from Miami on a weekly basis. Our staff will greet you at the airport in Roatan and bring you to Gibson Point.

While at the lodge you'll be treated to fine dining at every meal with breakfast, lunch, and dinner included in our packaged rates. Our certified chef will amaze you with cuisine from the islands as well as her own take on time-honored favorites.

While your dinner is being prepared, our pier and patio is a perfect place to unwind. Resident schools of bonefish and permit are found on the flat located directly in front of the lodge and if your arm is still willing, you'll be able to get in those few last casts before the sun slowly sets in the west.

Electricity: The electricity on the island is the same as in the US 110/120v

If you or anyone in your group desires to experience the many sea excursions available on the island, snorkeling, scuba sight seeing, swimming with the dolphins etc... Please let us know and we will have everything arranged prior to your arrival.
